Bob van Luijt

My name is Bob van Luijt (1985). I’m an electric bass player and composer from The Netherlands. In 2008 I received my degree at the Dutch conservatory ArtEZ where I studied with Henk de Ligt. In 2008 I was awarded two scholarships, one from the VSB-fonds and another one by the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where I studied with Dave Clarck and Bruce Gertz. For the last two years I have found my own way of writing and playing. The development of these two is one of the most important things I’m working on right now.

For this moment I’m working on a few projects where from one of them is the writing of a composition that has all kind of influences in it, from jazz to modern classical music. I’ve decided to make a Blog where you can find more information about me and the things I’m working on. If you like you can fill in your e-mail address at the right side and subscribe to my website.

On this moment I’m working on several projects including:

  • Solo, I’m using a special-tuned 5 string acoustic bassguitar and my regular Rikkers Powerline.

  • With my group Square Orange I’m working on a new project which I’m hoping to present medio 2010.

  • As a sideman in different ensembles.

Please feel free to contact me with any kind of questions.
